Public relations (PR) is the practice of managing the flow of information between an individual or an organization and the public. Public relations may include an organization or individual gaining exposure to their audiences using topics of public interest and news items that do not require direct payment. The aim of public relations by a company often is to persuade the public, investors, partners, employees, and other stakeholders to maintain a certain point of view about it, its leadership, products, or of political decisions. Common activities include speaking at conferences, winning industry awards, working with the press, and employee communication. Marketing is the wide range of activities involved in making sure that you’re continuing to meet the needs of your customers and getting value in return. Marketing is usually focused on one product or service. Thus, a marketing plan for one product might be very different than that for another product. Marketing activities include “inbound marketing,” such as market research to find out, for example, what groups of potential customers exist, what their needs are, which of those needs you can meet, how you should meet them, etc. Inbound marketing also includes analyzing the competition, positioning your new product payday loans or service (finding your market niche), and pricing your products and services. Public relationsagencies have a unique challenge when it comes to marketing: Not only do they need to market themselves, they need to do it in a way that demonstrates what they can do for their clients. The opportunities for creative expression are numerous. People just have to keep their minds and options open. With public relations, an organization can boost their sales performance. Advertising alone cannot reap those greens.
